The Laver Cup is an international men’s team tennis tournament that pits Team Europe against Team World. The tournament, which started in 2017, is named after the legendary Australian tennis player Rod Laver.

Three players automatically qualify based on their ATP singles ranking on Monday after the French Open, which is usually held in June. By the beginning of the US Open in August, the remaining three are revealed as "captain's picks." Each team is led by a tennis legend, such as Bjorn Borg for Team Europe and John McEnroe for Team World.
